artisan needlepoint — blocking & commissions
Needlepoint Blocking
Blocking is the process of washing, reshaping, and pinning a finished needlepoint canvas to its correct dimensions as it dries. It is essential for any piece that will be framed or made into a finished object — without it, the canvas warps, stitches pucker, and colors lose their clarity.
This is a luxury, artisan service. Each canvas is handled individually, washed by hand, blocked on a purpose-built frame, and pinned to exact dimensions. We do not rush the process.

Roll, don't fold
Roll your finished canvas loosely around an acid-free tube or cardboard core. Never fold — folding creates permanent crease lines in the threads.
Wrap in acid-free tissue
Enclose the rolled canvas in acid-free tissue paper before placing in a mailing tube or padded envelope.
Include a note
Include your name, return address, email, and the size you're ordering. A handwritten note is encouraged.
